Dear Valued Guests,
As concern grows regarding the coronavirus throughout Washington, Guemes Island General Store believes it is important for everyone to know that we, as a restaurant/bar, are not only continuing to follow all state and public health guidelines, but we are also implementing a few extra precautions to protect the health of our guests and our staff.
As required by Governer Inslee’s mandate, we are open for business but we are only providing curbside pickup. We are still offering togo food, beer, wine, and all grocery items.
1. We will continue to thoroughly sanitize the restaurant and maintain a vigorous cleaning protocol.
2. In our kitchens, all of our food handlers wear gloves which are changed often. Their hands are washed in-between glove changes as should be a common practice for all kitchens.
4. We will be proactive for the safety of our team & guests and ask all of our team members to stay home if they are feeling ill or have a family member that is ill.
It is important to remember that the food service industry is heavily regulated by health officials and has had protocols in place for decades to prevent food-borne diseases such as norovirus. Because of influenza, norovirus, hepatitis-A and other viruses, the restaurant industry has spent a lot of time thinking about this.
Ensuring the safety and health of all guests and staff is our top priority. Guemes Island General Store is following the suggestions of the federal and state public health guidelines as they are developing with regards to the COVID-19 virus. Our team will continue to monitor the situation and follow-up with guests as needed.
